Proms at Buckden Towers

Set within the historic grounds of Buckden Towers, the Proms returns in 2026 on Saturday 13 June (6:00pm–9:00pm), offering an evening of music, atmosphere, and shared celebration.

Now in its fourth year, the event has quickly established itself as a highlight of the summer calendar—bringing together live music, food, and community in a setting that is both relaxed and distinctive.

🎺 What to expect

At the heart of the evening is a vibrant live programme, typically featuring:

  • a large brass or big band
  • accomplished live singers
  • performances from local groups and musicians

Drawing on previous Proms events at the Towers, the format is designed as a full evening experience, rather than simply a concert. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, with the grounds opening beforehand to allow time to settle in and enjoy the setting.

🧺 A picnic and summer evening atmosphere

One of the defining features of the Proms at Buckden Towers is its informal, picnic-style atmosphere. Visitors typically:

  • bring chairs, blankets, and picnics
  • gather in groups across the lawns
  • enjoy the gradual transition from daylight into a lit evening performance

Alongside this, there is a strong hospitality offer:

  • food trucks and hot food options
  • a fully licensed bar
  • refreshments available from early evening (often from around 5:30pm)

This creates something closer to a summer garden celebration than a formal concert—combining music, food, and atmosphere in a relaxed, sociable setting.

✨ The overall experience

As the music builds and the evening light fades, the setting of Buckden Towers becomes part of the performance itself—historic walls, open lawns, and the shared presence of the audience all contributing to a sense of occasion.

The Proms at Buckden Towers is not simply a concert. It is:

  • a social summer gathering
  • a celebration of live music
  • and an opportunity to enjoy the grounds in a way that feels both relaxed and memorable

Whether arriving with a picnic or enjoying the food on offer, it offers an evening that blends heritage, hospitality, and music into a distinctive and enjoyable experience.
