Buckden Towers was delighted to welcome members of the Filipino-British community for this year’s FilBrit Day, a joyful celebration of faith, friendship and culture that filled the grounds with colour, music and laughter.
Visitors travelled from across the region to spend the day together, enjoying a programme that celebrated the rich heritage of the Filipino community while strengthening the bonds that unite people from many different backgrounds. Throughout the day there was a wonderful atmosphere of welcome, with families, friends and visitors of all ages sharing food, conversation and entertainment in the beautiful surroundings of Buckden Towers.
As a place with a long tradition of hospitality, Buckden Towers provided the perfect setting for the celebration. The historic grounds offered space for people to relax, children to play, and communities to gather, while many visitors also took the opportunity to explore the heritage of this remarkable site.
The celebration reflected the values that lie at the heart of Buckden Towers: welcoming all, building community and creating opportunities for people to come together in friendship. It was particularly encouraging to see so many generations represented, with grandparents, parents and children sharing in the day’s activities and creating lasting memories together.
We are especially grateful to the organisers, volunteers and everyone who contributed their time and talents to make FilBrit Day such a success. Their enthusiasm, generosity and careful planning ensured that every visitor experienced the warmth and hospitality for which the Filipino community is so well known.
Events such as FilBrit Day remind us that Buckden Towers is more than a historic building. It is a living place of encounter, where people of different cultures and traditions can meet, celebrate their shared humanity and deepen the friendships that enrich our communities.
