A Warm, Welcoming Space for Residential Groups

Alongside the historic towers and gatehouse, Buckden Towers is home to a beautiful Victorian house, built in 1872 and now forming an integral part of the Claret Centre.

Today, this elegant building offers a comfortable and homely setting for smaller residential groups—combining the charm of a traditional country house with the practical needs of modern group stays.

A Homely Residential Experience

The Victorian House provides an atmosphere that is:

  • Relaxed and informal
  • Welcoming and community-focused
  • Ideal for smaller groups seeking time together

The layout and character of the house naturally lend themselves to shared living, encouraging conversation, reflection, and a sense of being at home.

Full catering is available, allowing groups to focus fully on their time together without the need to organise meals.

Ideal for Smaller Groups

  • Retreat groups and reflective stays
  • Leadership teams and planning days
  • Parish groups and community gatherings
  • Formation or study groups

A Space That Feels Like Home

  • Comfortable rooms with a welcoming feel
  • Shared spaces that encourage connection
  • A quieter, more domestic atmosphere

Guests can enjoy both the privacy of the house and access to the wider historic grounds and gardens, creating a stay that is both restful and enriching.

Flexible Use for Day and Residential Groups

The Victorian House is also available for day use, offering flexibility for a variety of needs.

  • Meeting and discussion rooms
  • Spaces for quiet reflection or prayer
  • Areas suitable for teaching, workshops, or group activities

Whether for a full residential stay or a single-day gathering, the house supports focus, collaboration, and community.

  • The comfort of a lived-in space
  • Flexibility for modern group use

For many groups, it becomes more than just accommodation—it becomes a place where people can gather, share, and feel truly at ease.
