A shared witness – and St Hugh’s place within it

At the heart of village life in Buckden is a quiet but powerful collaboration: Buckden Churches Together.

This partnership brings together the Christian communities of the village—Anglican, Catholic, Methodist and others—in a shared commitment to prayer, service, and presence within the wider community.

For the Parish of St Hugh of Lincoln, Buckden Towers, this is not an optional extra. It is a natural expression of our mission: to be a place where faith is lived generously, visibly, and in communion with others.

A shared history in the life of the village

The roots of Buckden Churches Together can be seen in long-standing shared initiatives, most notably the Buckden Roundabout, first established in 1979 as a joint effort between the churches and the Parish Council.

From the beginning, the churches of Buckden chose not simply to coexist, but to collaborate—for the good of the whole village.

St Hugh’s has played a consistent part in this shared life, offering both spiritual leadership and hospitality, particularly through Buckden Towers as a place of gathering, reflection, and welcome.
