The situation at Buckden Towers is unusual. The church and property are not owned by the Diocese, but by the Claretian Missionaries Trust (Charity No. 234026), a registered Catholic charity. This means that while the parish operates within the Diocese, responsibility for buildings and resources rests with the religious congregation.

How This Works

• We contribute to the Diocese through the standard parish levy.
• The Claretian Missionaries Trust is responsible for the upkeep and development of Buckden Towers.
• It is encouraged that Donations are made to the Claretian Missionaries Trust, which is able to claim Gift Aid on eligible contributions.

This arrangement is similar to other parishes served by religious communities, such as Ealing Abbey (Benedictine) and Farm Street Church (Jesuit), where pastoral life is diocesan but financial responsibility lies with the religious order.
