As the catechetical year draws to a close, the parish of St Hugh of Lincoln comes together for a relaxed and joyful Parish Barbecue—a chance to celebrate the year, enjoy one another’s company, and simply spend time together.
Taking place on July 7th, the gathering begins after the 10:00am Mass. Those attending Mass are warmly invited to stay on as the barbecue is prepared, with time to chat, relax, and enjoy the unfolding of the day. At the same time, all parishioners are welcome to join us from late morning onwards, whether or not they have been at the Mass.
🍔 A shared celebration
With food ready from around midday, the atmosphere is informal and welcoming:
- freshly prepared barbecue food to share
- space to sit, relax, and enjoy the surroundings
- activities for children, helping families to feel at home
- plenty of opportunity for conversation and connection
Set within the beautiful grounds of Buckden Towers, the day offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the summer weather, the open space, and the spirit of parish life.
🌿 An invitation to all
This is a gathering for the whole parish community:
- families, individuals, and visitors
- those involved in catechetical programmes
- and all who are part of the life of St Hugh’s
Whether you come straight from Mass or join us later, you are warmly invited to be part of this simple but special moment of community.
✨ A moment to celebrate
The Parish Barbecue is more than a meal—it is a way of marking the year together, giving thanks for all that has been shared, and looking ahead with a renewed sense of belonging and friendship.
