In a busy and often fragmented world, the Claret Centre offers something simple and powerful: hospitality, space, and the opportunity to renew—together.

Who we are

The Claret Centre is inspired by the work of the Claretian Missionaries, an international organisation with a long tradition of working alongside people and communities in times of growth, change, and challenge.

Founded in the nineteenth century by St Anthony Mary Claret, the Claretian Missionaries today work in many countries in areas such as education, community support, retreat and reflection work, and projects that serve the wellbeing of others. Their approach is shaped by a commitment to listening, hospitality, and accompaniment — creating spaces where people can pause, reflect, and regain perspective before continuing their journey.

While rooted in the Catholic tradition, the Claretian Missionaries work openly with people of all faiths and none, wherever there is a shared commitment to respect, care for others, and the common good. This values-led and inclusive approach shapes the life of the Claret Centre at Buckden Towers, which offers a place of welcome, rest, and renewal for those engaged in supporting others.

Entrusted to the Claretian Missionaries, the parish is inspired by their commitment to proclaim the Gospel, stand in solidarity with others, and work for justice, reconciliation, and peace.
